Thick octavo, two volumes in one, 317pp, (1) 332, (2). Frontsipiece to both volumes, the second volume with two, the second a hand-colored (of the Emperor of China). Taylor's 1838-40 circumnavigation of the frigate Columbia and John Adams with ports of call in Brazil, Arabia, India, Malaya, China, Siam, Hawaii, Tahiti, Chile, and Peru. Some chipping to brown cloth at extremities, incidental spotting largely confined to front and rear. Owner name and address dated 1978 ffe. Solid binding. A very nice, unsophisticated copy.
