Sydney; Hordern House; 1991.. Facsimile Edition; Demy 8vo; pp. (xxxiv commentary), xxxii, 149; 1 b/w illustration; hand bound in half maroon calf with marbled boards, spine with minor marks, previous owner's inscription on half title page, bookplate of Rodney Davidson on front endpaper, very good copy. Facsimile of the edition of 1795 it was issued as the first number in the Australian Maritime Series, published by Hordern House for the Australian National Museum. Edition limited to 750 copies. Just three years after the first fleet the Author leaving 2 young children at home accompanied her husband and kept an excellent Diary of the events including the condition of convicts on transport ships. Also listing many of the others on board, sometimes their professions and where originally from. Including Captains Bristow, Hopwood, Hamilton, Murray, Miller, Colonel Otho Hamilton, Hugh Robert Hughes, Miss Catherine Hunter and Mr. Peyton Hadley. The author was extremely interested in everything happening in board and around the ship even a lightning strike is noted. Dedication by Lady Diana Princess of Wales.
