John Murray. London. 1929. REPRINT OF CHEAP EDITION, published just 3 months earlier. 8vo. (7.7 x 5.2 inches). Illustrated with 16 full page mono plates, one from a drawing of the discovery by Dr Edward A. Wilson, the rest from photographs. Illustrated map endpapers in the front. A very good copy in an early leather binding by Morrell of London. Half dark blue calf. Spine with raised bands. The compartments lettered and decorated in gilt. Blue cloth on boards. Gilt stamped arms of Dover College to the front board. Marbled endpapers. Top edge gilt. A little rubbing to the binding but overall a very good and attractive copy of this classic of Polar exploration.
