"Three of the themes are borrowed from traditional Palestinian melodies, one Sephardic, one Arabian, and one Yemenite. Of the Hebrew texts, the first and fifth are translations of the English texts, the second is a well-known poem by the twelfth century philosopher, Ibn Ezra, and the rest are adaptations of poems by modern Palestinian poets. The English texts are by the composer.".
