London: Edward Moxon & Co., 1867. First edition. Original burgundy buckram with gilt titles and design to the front board. Gilt titles to the spine. Boards are in good strong state, with a little darkening and a touch of bumping only. Clean but with a little marking to the rear panel. Purple end papers. Half title, Frontis, title, 9 full page illustrations. The text is mainly clean and tidy, with some light foxing throughout. The tissue guard to the frontis has a little tearing. An attractive copy. [6], 49, [1]. pp. 430 x 310 mm (17 x 12¼ inches). First published as four separate titles: Elaine, Guinevere, Vivien and Enid; they were then combined into two-title volumes and later combined as part of "Idylls of the King".
