The text is illustrated with 9 double-page & 69 full-page coloured plates, 50 coloured illustrations and 2 other illustrations. Brown coloured boards with gilt illustration of 'Nepenthes Northiana' embossed on the front panel. Gilt titles to the backstrip. Bumping to the top right-hand corner of the front book panel and rubbing to all other edges of the book. Slight fading to the book edges. Light browning of the internal text. Colour illustrated dustwrapper, by Marianne North, with brown coloured background with white and pale brown titles to the front panel and white titles to the backstrip.
