About This Item
Ex-library copy No dust jacket. Cover faded and scuffed.
Hard to find "biography" of Virginia Dare's childhood. She was the first white English colonist born in America.
This copy was originally purchased by the St. Louis library in 1958 and has its markings, including a stamped date of April 10, 1958 on the first page of text. The book has clearly been read many times by many children and is in rough shape. The binding was a shade of orange-red, but is heavily discolored darker now. Every word of text is still perfectly legible. The spine was electrical taped long ago (by the library) the same shade of orange-red as the cover and has the title (Dare, V. - Stenenson - JB) neatly handwritten in clear black ink. The cover is heavily scuffed along the edges, but is still fully intact. The entire book is fully intact, 192 somewhat yellowed pages, but with every word of text clearly and easily legible.
Although other copies of this book are netting up to $500 and more, I'll let this one go for $50 in the hope it goes to a good home occupied by someone sincerely interested in reading (or rereading) this book.
