The first edition of this work.An exciting adventure novel set in South America, revolving around the legends of the South America.Written by H. Rider Haggard, an adventure novelist known for pioneering the lost world genre. He wrote on the lighter end of Victorian literature, also being involved in agricultural reform throughout the British Empire. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Crack to the rear joint. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A few light marks to the boards and spine, including a faint ring mark to the front board. Small crack to the front joint. Odd spots to the fore edge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with some odd spots. Very Good
