Ahmedabad: Navajivan Publishing House, 1949. Third Edition / First Edition (Volume II). Cloth. Near fine/very good. Non-Violence in Peace & War by Mahatma K. Gandhi, the third edition of Volume I and first edition of Volume II, both volumes in scarce dust jackets.. Octavo, [two volumes], xii, 512pp; xvi, 403pp. Blue paper over cloth, title printed in black on both volumes. Volume I is the third edition, one of 6000 copies printed in 1948; Volume II is a first edition, one of 5000 copies printed in 1949. Both volumes with light toning to leaves, but free of any extraneous marks. Both volumes with contemporary ownership inscription on front free endpaper from Professor of International Affairs, Marshall R. Singer, dated 20/12/56. Both volumes with exceptionally scarce dust jackets, loss at top edge of both jackets at the spine, tape repair on verso of Volume I, no loss of text to either jacket, both present well. An exceptionally scarce set.
