About This Item
Ex-library book has usual markings, stamps, stickers, writing, card holder. No DJ. Some bumping, rubbing on the top, spine, edges, corners. Outer edges have tanning, browning, stains and foxing. Guttering has happened in the front of the book but pages are NOT loose and binding is still tight. This novel revolves around three women. Claire, a wealthy and privileged woman, has a happy marriage and family life. When she becomes deeply involved in a movement to educate women about contraception, Catholic families boycott her husband's business. Anne is a reporter. She is a faithful Catholic, but after doing a story on single mothers on welfare, she begins to question her religion's rules. Joyce, her sister, has had six children in a relatively short marriage-two of whom have special needs. 1964. U3.
