New York: The American Tract Society. Hardcover. Very Good. 16mo. 39, 50, 18 pages. Hardcover bound in original dark brown publisher's cloth with cover designs embossed in blind and with spine title and design in gilt. Light wear to the binding. A sound copy with secure inner hinges. Contains one illustration in the middle of the Peter Bayssiere section. Early owner's signature on the front flyleaf of John P. Cushman. The book contains three titles with separate pagination and each with a half title. No copyright date, but circa 1840s-1850s. The owner / signer might be John P. Cushman (1784-1848) the American lawyer and politician from New York., or it may be his son. We have several other books from the Cushman family.
