De Mexico & Biblio. Nac. Mexico). The author negotiated the pacification of Francisco Villa. Conversations with Villa after he had been settled on the Hacienda of Canutillo and a copy of the memoirs Villa was dictating to his secretary were the principle sources for Torres' writings on Villa, originally published in the 1930s. "Here is Villa in all his glory and in all his violence … [These new editions include] Torres' description of his role in the negotiations leading to the pacification of Villa, represents historical material of the eyewitness variety." – Stanley Ross, Book Review in Hispanic American Historical Review, Vol. 38.
