Hutchinson of London, London, 1975. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Good. Illustrator: Oliver Elmes. Black-and-white illustrated (double page) title page and black-and-white illustrations throughout the book by Oliver Elmes. Blue coloured boards with silver coloured titles to the backstrip. Colour illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. A story set in world War I and of the desperate air battles fought in the skies of France where young boys matured, very rapidly, in to men. Bumping to the lower backstrip edge and rubbing to the book corners and to both backstrip edges. Browning and foxing to the top text block edge. Light browning to the endpapers and light age toning to the internal text. Rubbing and creasing to the dustwrapper edges and there are small splits to the top edges of the fold over creases. Rubbing, yellowing and handling marks to the rear dustwrapper panel. Black-and-white photograph of author to the rear fold over panel. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
