Rich navy blue cloth boards with title and decoration in gold on spine. Lightly bumped corners. With 313 beautiful drawings by William Luker Jr., noted Victorian artist, including 60 full page renderings. Not only is the history of London set out in a straightforward readable style, but the author has taken the reader on a guided tour of the city streets of the 188 0's - the wonderful churches, Bank of England, Stock Exchange, great city markets, powerful Livery companies, the schools, Merchan Taylors, Christs Hospital, etc. Tan dust jacket with title and illustrations on front cover.
