Whymper, E; et al. xii, 292pp, with 5 black and white portraits of the queen and 60 engravings (inc. frontispiece). Red cloth-covered boards; gilt and black illustration on front, embossed illustration on rear, gilt titles on front and spine, all text block edges gilt; bevelled edges. 4to. A large and heavy volume which may require an additional charge for overseas delivery. Boards soiled and worn. Spine sun-faded and soiled, spine ends rubbed with cloth worn through and fraying. Corners heavily rubbed and rounded with cloth worn through. Text block edges lightly soiled. Block dropped. Missing front free endpaper, pen inscription on front pastedown. Hinges cracked and stretched, volume loose. Previous owner's details on verso of frontispiece. Foxing throughout, heaviest towards prelims. On Queen Victoria's life and reign.
