The book is all encompassing and written for anyone who wishes to play vibes. This comprehensive instruction manual, complete with helpful photos, is for both teachers and students. The method is designed to present music and develop musicianship while employing newly learned vibe techniques in many varied musical styles. Each lesson is preceded by a list of "New Materials" introduced on that page. Of equal importance are the accompanying practice materials in the Appendix. These supplemental studies provide the opportunity to learn scales, intervals and chords before direct application in a future lesson. Three and four mallet playing is introduced and developed as early as possible to build the proper playing foundation demanded in today's literature. Each lesson is not necessarily representative of a week's work, since progress varies according to individual ability. There are often concepts introduced which will require more than one week of study. New areas can also be developed in greater depth by briefly reviewing earlier materials with the new techniques introduced. The format is all inclusive to provide vibe techniques at various stages of development and to include text material which can be utilized for total vibe teaching.
