This picture book show the life of a wealthy Czech family at the turn of the 19th century. Illustrated with 4 full page chromolithographs and 8 pages illustrated in brown line. Scarce and charming.

Praze [Prague]: Alois Hynek, 1890. Near fine.. Darling Czech children's book, with vibrant chromolithographs of well-to-do children engaging in various activities including going to the zoo, going sailing, and buying new toys. When this work was published, Prague was still situated within the Austro-Hungarian empire. Nevertheless, the Czechs maintained a strong cultural identity centered around Prague, which had a lively upper class - the perfect audience for a book about fancy little children having fun. 11'' x 5.5''. Original stiff color pictorial wrappers. Illustrated in color and brown line. [12] pages. Wrapper with light rubbing, a bit of edgewear. Leaves with a touch of toning. Colors vibrant.
