About This Item

New York, New York, USA: St. Martin's Press, 1990. BH6 - An unread, tight, clean, sound copy with only very, very minor overall shelf wear. The dust jacket shows only very, very minor overall shelf wear. This one of the author's Lovejoy mysteryies. Lovejoy is back as a movie consultant about the robbery of London's British Museum. The job seems like easy money but Lovejoy comes under police suspicion for the murder of a reclusive antiques counterfeiter. The police attribute the disappearance of another antiques dealer to Lovejoy also. To add to these problems, a crooked dealer and his crew attack Lovejoy and ruin his house. Lovejoy comes to the conclusion that his work on the movie seems to be connected to all these problems. The movie director's lovely assistant then seduces him into obedience and he is ordered to rob the crooked dealer's Russian Exhibition, a show made possible by one of the movie's principal backers. Lovejoy hides among the film extras to escape his many pursuers but, once there, he realizes that he has actually ended up in the most dangerous place of all. By the author of "Jade Woman," "Moonspender," "The Tartan Sell," and "Pearlhanger." 275p.. First American Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
