Amsterdam: Frederik Muller, 1858. First edition pp.viii, 374, [2]. A very good copy bound in contemporary quarter calf. With presentation inscription from the Niederlaendischen Bibelgesellschaft to the British and Foreign Bible Society, and blind stamp of the latter. A detailed grammar based on the Ngaju language as spoken at Pulopetak in south-central Kalimantan, compiled by a missionary who had spent many years in the region. The full Ngaju text of a magic chant, "Augh olo Balian Hapan Tiwah", with parallel German translation and explanatory notes is included.
