London, Collins, 1944.. FIRST EDITION 1944, 4to, 290 x 230 mm, 11½ x 9 inches, blue cloth, gilt Humpty Dumpty vignette to upper cover, 34 pages of charming full page coloured illustrations by G.S. Sherwood to all the well known Alice in Wonderland poems. Small slightly faded patch at head of spine, blank front endpaper scored and slightly discoloured where child's inscription has been erased, front pastedown slightly flecked with blue, occasional slight fingermarks to margins. Very good in good DUSTWRAPPER (dw: not price clipped, front inner flap also lightly flecked with blue, 15 mm (¾") chip at head of spine extending a little onto lower panel, 10 mm (½") chip on lower panel, yellow areas slightly spotty and dusty looking, child's name erased from yellow area on upper panel).
