About This Item

Windgather Press, 2011. 1st edition. Paper covers. New/No Jacket. A history of the now sadly defunct Garden which was located close to Old Trafford and fulfilled multiple purposes in the 19th century including a refuge for art lovers visiting the neighbouring exhibition centre, a pet show venue, and even a sort of theme park or "Amusement Resort". Punctuated by financial tales of woe, this story is told very engagingly by an author who has a detailed knowledge of Manchester's cultural, and horticultural, history. xii, 160 pp.
