Cloth portfolio (a Fortuny print of 18th-century design, hand-blocked in Venice) and box, housing 47 loose leaves (including 2 red "endpapers" and one purple leaf separating the introduction from the text). With 35 full-pate illustrations from 18th-century copperplate engravings, as well vignettes in text (details from various plates in the Gran Teatro, Marieschi, and Canaletto-Visentini albums). From a limited edition fo 150 copies, 12 of which are hors commerce. Corners of box gently bumped, otherwise fine. Bookplate of Norman Sondheim on front paste-down of portfolio. Lavish and lovely.
