Together with several articles from the same journal by other authors. (2). Application of Milton Fraser Percival for active membership in the American Roentgen Ray Society. Printed document accomplished in typescript and manuscript, signed by Pfahler. Jan. 19, 1921. 2 integral leaves. 281 x 217 mm. Some soiling and wear, torn along folds. (3). T.L.s. from Pfahler to the Executive Committee of the American Roentgen Ray Society, dated Feb. 4, 1921, regarding Percival's application to the Society. 1 sheet. 140 x 215 mm. (4). Carbon typescript signed to the Friendly Square Circle Meeting, First Presbyterian Church (Philadelphia), dated April 12, 1940, regarding a donation made to cover part of the expenses for a lecture given by Percival. 280 x 215 mm. Some marginal chipping and fraying.
Pfahler, a pioneer American radiologist, developed a filter for screening out the "soft" skin-burning rays from the X-ray beam. The filter was described in his paper, "A roentgen filter and a universal diaphragm and protecting screen" (Trans. Am Roentgen Ray Soc. [1906]: 217-24).
