Beautifullly illustrated with 80 sepia-tone photogravures by the author depicting Indian chiefs and Indian life. Two of the plates are detached, but present and laid-in. Gilt top foredge. First edition with 1913 on title and copyright page. Gift inscription to front free endpaper. Some fraying to head and tail of spine. The concept of Rodman Wanamaker. "A record of the last great Indian Council, participated in by eminent Indian chiefs from nearly every Indian reservation in the United States, together with the story of their lives as told by themselves - their speeches and folklore tales - their solemn farewell and the Indians' story of the Custer fight.
