Maroon cloth, gilt lettering on spine, blindstamped lettering on front cover, 12mo, 420 pp. Frontis illustration plus 7 full-page plates within text by N. C. Wyeth. John Herbert Quick (1861Ð1925) was an Iowa author. This work was the first in a trilogy dealing with the settlement of Iowa during the 19th century. Date (Sept. 1922) on ffep only mark in book, binding tight. Covers show light edge wear, soiling top edge of text block. Spine lettering rubbed. Book condition VG-.
