About This Item
New York, NY: International Publishers, 1935. Unstated . Soft Cover/Stapled. Very Good/None as Issued. Text/BRAND NEW w/trace discoloration. Stapled soft cover/VG; Strong & sound w/closed tear to lower spine, and showing discoloration. An address delivered by Karl Marx at the sessions of the General Council of the First International in June of 1865. The text was found among Marx's papers after Engel's death, and published by Marx's daughter, Eleanor Marc Aveling; the German translation bore the title Wages, Price and Profit. The paper is essentially a rubuttal of John Weston's argument that to the degree that rise in labor wages diminishes surplus capital, increase of pay can be inexpedient and even harmful. The second portion of the work is an exposition of several theses from the book Capital, which at the time was a work in progress. This pamphlet serves well as an introduction to Marx's Capital.
