About This Item
London: Herbert Jenkins Limited, 1939. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. London: Herbert Jenkins Limited, 1939. Stated First Printing. 12mo, orange cloth boards with black imprinting on both covers and spine (rear imprint being publisher's logo), 284 pp. + 4 pp. ads. Near Fine - and it really is. See scans. Faint darkening at cover top and spine, prior ownership sticker and signature at front endpapers, five small signatures at rear free endpaper, all ladies - perhaps a club; but this example has probably never truly been read. Very handsome. The Valley of Baca - by "THE Yorkshire Author" - is blurbed as a tale which "extols the power of love and the homely virtues", and, indeed, it looks as though it may do just that. Sparkling. Scarce in this condition. Please see scans. L-42n
