Light shelf wear, spines slightly cocked, else a Very Good, quite brilliant set in the unusual publisher's cloth dust jackets. First American illustrated edition of the Polish author's historical novel, adorned with maps of ancient Rome, and photogravures from paintings by Howard Pyle, Edmund H. Garrett, and Evert Van Muyden.
