Just a touch of shelf/edge wear to green cloth boards with gilt spine titles on maroon panel - corners sharp. Minor shelf/edge wear and dust soiling to original heavy cream veined paper and unclipped DJ - now in mylar. Spine of DJ is lightly yellowed. Gift inscription to previous owner on the half-title page ("with fond saludos to Uta from all her friends in "Club 15" Buenos Aires, 1973, and the signatures of Ernestine Evans, Joy Sanchez, Betty Anne Booth, Barbara DePali, Audrey Hagerman, Marcia Boleiiq, Eileen Buchanan and Pat Lussier - all other pages are clean and unmarked. Map endpapers. FFEP has a gold foil stamp from" Librerias, ABC Florida 725 Buenos Aires"A true adventure account by a member of the 1st family that successfully settled in the Tierra del Fuego area in the 1800's, it accurately describes the geography, various indian tribes, hunting & survival techniques and as well as the development of this incredibly beautiful part of the earth. An incredible and absorbing read. 51 chapters in 5 parts, epilogue, 3 appendices index and more. 97 B&W illustrations and 5 maps. Highly Recommended. A superb copy in a very handsome DJ. LOC SSS-07
