Oliphant Anderson & Ferrier, Edinburgh and London, 1894. Reprint. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Illustrated. (7) 8-256 pages. Illustrated endpapers -- being an abstract design in very pale olive and white. The text is illustrated with six black-and-white illustrations -- in the steel etched style, illustrator not credited. Blue coloured cloth covered boards with gilt band across the top of the front board and backstrip, a floral design (a branch and leaves) which starts at the backstrip in the gilt portion, goes to the front board and then flows down the front. A floral design in black and lighter blue to the left-hand portion of the front panel and there is a small gilt strip with blue floral design to the lower front edge and lower extra edge. Bumping, rubbing and very slight fraying to the backstrip edges and corners. The underlying board is visible to the book corners. Rubbing and fading to the book edges and to the book panels. The backstrip has become quite faded and rubbed. Browning and foxing to the text block edge. The free front end paper is missing. Browning, handling marks and some foxing marks to the internal text. The book also has been over opened and the underlying webbing can be seen between pages 128 and 129, 160 and 161 and 192 and 193. A melodrama from the 19th century. Size: 12mo (standard paperback).
