About This Item
Morsum/Sylt : Helmut Schwarz Verlag [1988.] Signed by Boy Lornsen with an original sketch of a sheep. Boldly signed in black ink and dated "Keitum/Sylt / Sept, 3.7.89." A humorous book, in words and pictures, about local sheep. Written in the low German dialect of the northernmost German sea-isle of Sylt, where Lornsen lived in the village of Keitum. An engaging little work by Lornsen (1922-95), prolific German writer and artist who is best known for Robbi, Tobbi und das Fliewatüüt and other works for children. 61 pp., with color photographs throughout the book of sheep and related scenes. Small pictorial hardcover, 6.75 by 4.25 inches. No dust jacket. VG with some rubbing and wear to the extremities. Sound binding. Scarce with Lornsen's signature, and more so with the original drawing.
