About This Item

Wellington, NZ: A.H. and A.W. Reed for The Third Division Histories Committee, 1947. First New Zealand Edition . Hardcover in Dust Jackets. Very Good. 8vo. The 3rd New Zealand Division, New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Really an official history, edited by an Official Historian, covering September, 1940 through October, 1944, when the division was disbanded. Fiji, Guadalcanal, Vella Lavella, Monro, Green Is., etc. Quite rare as a complete set. A fair set, issued without dust jackets. All volumes have heavily worn covers with varying fading & soiling, as usual, but except where noted clean contents: Vol. 1 has front hinge split & spine starting to detach, “ War Veterans Home” stamp throughout front matter & on rear paste-down; Vol. 3 has discreet owner’s stamp on front endpaper; Vol. 5 has pencil marginalia throughout; Vol. 6 has tape on paste-downs & stained front endpaper; Vol. 7 has rear hinge splitting at tail; Vol. 12 has front hinge splitting at head.
