London: John Hamilton, (1940) Appears to be the First Edition; undated in publishing details; this title first appeared in 1940. HB. Red and black patterned cloth lettered in black to white paper label on spine, and pictorial dustjacket showing hand holding gun with two pennies, lettered in yellow and white on blue background. 254pp, octavo. Crime thriller set in London. Very Good book in a Very Good jacket, now in clear removable sleeve. Clean covers with slight lean to binding, very light rubbing to corners; clean pages apart from a few spots to centres, some dust darkening to top closed edges and slight tanning to endpapers. Jacket bright and clean though edges rubbed with small losses, abrasions and creases, plus small abrasion to front near title; price-clipped. Still a decent copyof a scarce title.
