A Victorian guide to the art of letter writing, including many fine examples by British writers such as Dr Johnson, Sir Walter Scott, Hannah More and Robert Burns. An attractive small volume bound in publisher's embossed brown cloth with gilt spine decoration. The engraved title page, frontispiece and vignettes within the text illustrate the pleasure of writing and receiving well crafted letters. The book has been well cared for by its owners, a little fading to the spine, spotting to the edges and text, overall near fine. Near Fine 1856
