Fifty-Three foreign governments, our Federal Government and all the States of the American Union are participating in this unrivaled Expedition, at a total of over $50,000,000. (that figure was in 1904, wonder how much it would be today ?). It covers 1,240 acres ,or more than the Chicago, Paris, and the Centennial Exposition combined. Nearly 1,000 buildings are erected on the grounds. The Exhibit Palaces, of which there are fourteen, each covers from four to twenty acres.
