About This Item
Boston: Alfred Mudge & Son, 1871. First edition. Softcover. Very good. Pamphlet with original pale green printed wrappers. Stiched, as issued. (6 5/8" x 10 3/8"). 10pp. Signature in ink at the top of the front wrapper of Edwin H. Abbott, a Boston lawyer who subsequently became President of the Wisconsin Central Railroad. There is another ink inscription on the front wrapper: "May 1861 from R,R,B," Legal counsel for Adams argued that interstate railroads were still subject to federal bankruptcy laws passed by Congress. Wrapper has some light soiling, but overall a near fine copy.
