Black morocco-gain cloth with gilt-stamped cover title: The U. S. Army and Navy 1776-1899. Brown, grey, and black cover illustration. Boards have bevelled edges. All page edges are gilt. Dark brown endpapers. Title page in red and black. "The Country's Defensive Forces in War and Peace" -- at head of title page. The Army by Lieut.-Col. Arthur L. Wagner; The Navy by Commander J. D. Jerrold Kelley. A heavy book; for international shipping, it will have to be sent by priority international. In Very Good Condition: corners rubbed; ends of spine frayed with minor loss; cover is slightly soiled; front free endpaper has a vertical crease that is starting to separate at each end; faint dampstain at upper edge of front endpapers; occasional light finger soiling in margins; otherwise, pages and plates are clean and tight.
