About This Item
Garden City, New York: Doubleday & Co., Inc., 1983. ARC Advance Review Copy . Printed Wrappers. About near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Garden City: Doubleday & Company, Inc., 1983. Advance Uncorrected Proof (AUP). Octavo, 186 pp., printed light blue wraps. Semi-technical publisher's notice to the recipient of the AUP is tipped in at the cover verso. Sunning at spine and a bit at margins, else Near Fine. Asimov's cleverly written collection of 25 short mystery stories, as related by four old "cronies" - Griswold, Jennings, Baranov, and the narrator - all of whom try to one-up, and stump, each other with their enigmas. The reader is invited to try to resolve these as well. Nice, collectible, original form - before proof correction - of an entertaining Asimov opus in a handsomely preserved copy. L53n
