Bloomington: Indiana University Press, 1961 First printing of the first edition. Number twenty in the "Indiana University Poetry Series." Author's first book. Signed and inscribed by Carolyn Kizer directly on the front-free endpaper: "for Eleanor, / With love and cats / Carolyn / Double Ten '66"; additionally, Kizer goes on to list nine pages with "a few cats"; finally, Kizer wrote a brief initialed note along the front flap: "Sorry the publishers were so slow to deliver this CK." Book with light toning along gutters of endpapers, else in fine condition; dust jacket with two short closed tears near upper front spine fold, toning to spine, and light wear to extremities, else fine.
