New York, New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1938. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Doane, Pelagie. Book #11 in the YA mystery series featuring girl detective, Judy Bolton. A FIRST EDITION, likely First Printing from 1938 (listing to Self in front matter), with the original green cloth-covered boards with mauve lettering & design to front & spine. Thick, with a glossy (not plain) frontispiece by Pelagie Doane; no internals. Pink "staircase" endpapers in 250 pages; no lists of other titles. Condition is VG: very clean, binding strong & straight, hinges secure, pages creamy white with modest tanning to edges. NO writing/underlining/highlighting; not ex-lib. Externally, the corners are mildly bumped & there is slight fraying to the cloth at both ends of spine, light soil. No DJ, but a solidly nice copy!
