London, George Newnes Ltd., 1899-1900 1st.. Two Volumes. Tall hardbacks, 11.5 x 9 inches. Light brown/tan cloth with black lettering and coloured solider illustrations to fronts and spines. Speckled page edging. In very good conditions. Edges and ends of spines rubbed, some heavier general rubbing to cover on vol.1, with some small nicks to ends of spine. Some tanning to endpapers, bookplate to front “W.E. Armstrong.” (Vol.2.) Some tanning to pages, mostly around page edges. Else very good clean and tight copies. 2 vols. (viii + viii) + 432pp to 856pp. Profusely illustrated with B&W photographs and illustrations throughout.
