Printed on Van Gelder Hand-made paper. Lavender endpapers. Uncut. Inked ownership and presentation to Anne B. Oller, 1925. Small 8vo. Original full lavender paper binding. Spine and front cover with the original printed paper labels. Original slip case. Hardbound. Limited Edition of only 900 copies. Third edition. Nice copy. Daniel Henry Holmes, Jr. (1851-1908) was born in New York City, and later lived with his family in New Orleans. In 1852 his father bought a summer home near Covington, Kentucky which they called Holmesdale. The young Holmes spent his summers in Kentucky and his winters in New Orleans. As a young man Holmes moved to Holmesdale and took up the practice of law, in what William S. Ward called, "a desultory fashion."
