First edition. No dust jacket. Margaret Armstrong designed binding. Rubbing to board edges, particularly at spine. Some of the decoration at spine rubbed off. Four corners lightly pushed in. Front and rear hinges badly cracked. Corner of front free endpaper missing. Penciled gift inscription dated 1907 on front free endpaper. Half title page and frontispiece laid in. Top edge gilt. Ghost of an illustration on rear board with some soiling.
