NY: D. Appleton and Company, 1908. Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket. New and Revised Edition" near fine with no dust jacket. Maroon cloth with gilt lettering and decorations on spine anf front board. The spine is slightly sunned, with just a touch of wear to the cloth. The front board is bright and has an illustration of two buckets from a well with small animals inside. Owner's name on front endpaper; top edge of page block is gilt. With 112 illustrations by A. B. Frost; 265 pages plus six pages of publisher's ads. A tight, square, attractive copy.
Synopsis
The dialect, lore, and flavor of black life in the nineteenth-century South is portrayed as it appeared to Georgia-born Joel Chandler Harris in Uncle Remus’s "Legends of the Old Plantation."
