Norwalk, CT: The Heritage Press. Very Good+ in Very Good dust jacket. c. 1976. Hardcover. Original tan cloth publisher's covers with gilt spine lettering encased in a cream-colored slipcase. The Sandglass 4 page pamphlet is loosely laid in. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates. The slipcase is also in nice condition with no tears or splits. The Heritage Press imprint indicates that it was published in 1957; however, the Norwalk place of publication means that it was published sometime between 1976 and 1983. ; B&W Illustrations; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 158 pages .
Synopsis
The dialect, lore, and flavor of black life in the nineteenth-century South is portrayed as it appeared to Georgia-born Joel Chandler Harris in Uncle Remus’s "Legends of the Old Plantation."
