About This Item
Scheltens & Giltay, 1935. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Slight wear to extremities (chiefly fraying and rubbing; chiefly to head and foot of spine and corners); slight rubbing and browning to covers (cloth over boards; chiefly to foredges); previous owner's ink inscription on front free endpaper; slight internal uniform browning (chiefly to endpapers and edges). [4], 174, [2] pages + plates. Text in Dutch. Concentration on Parisian fashions of the late 1920's (and possibly the early 1930's); notable primarily for the plates. Date is conjectural (not dated in book; previous owner's inscription dated December 5, 1943, but book itself probably predates the start of WWII); not located in BMC (in either this Dutch translation or in the French original). Still a fairly tight copy internally.31 b/w Photographs / Plates (including frontispiece; Chiefly portraits); b/w Title Vignette.
