First of the Popular Edition; first published in 1910. 8vo, cloth in dust jacket. book very good with some fading and light abrasions to spine, bookplate, owner's inscription, text very good and clean; jacket fair to good with some chips, edgewear and loss but mainly complete and a rare survivor; few if any of the other copies currently for sale online have a jacket. 233 pp, illustrated, folding map. Treves, of course, is famous these days for have treated and written about "The Elephant Man." Chapters on Mombasa, the Uganda Railway, the Masai, Nairobi in the early 1900's, the Rift Valley, Safaris, Nakuru, Port Florence (Kisumu), Rusinga Island, Lake Victoria-Nyanza, Kampala, the Nile, etc.
