Zürich, Schulthess, 1866. 8°, 263 S.; 36 S., 6 Falttaf., HLdr. goldgeprägt., min. berieben, min stockfleckig. Arnold Bürkli (2.2.1833 Zürich, 6.5.1894), 1850-53 Ingenieurgehilfe beim Strassen- und Wasserbauwesen Zürich, 1853-55 Ingenieur bei der Nordostbahn. 1855-58 Stud. an der Bauakad. in Berlin und Studienreisen durch Belgien, England und Frankreich. 1858-60 Ingenieur bei den Vereinigten Schweizer Bahnen. 1860-82 als Stadtingenieur von Zürich verantwortlich für die Neugestaltung der Stadt. Nach seinem Projekt und unter seiner Leitung entstanden Bahnhofbrücke (1861) und Bahnhofstrasse (ab 1864) sowie versch. Stadtquartiere: Stadelhofer- (ab 1862), Bahnhof- (ab 1864), Industrie- (1873), Zähringer- (ab 1876) und Fraumünsterquartier (ab 1877). 1863 erarbeitete B. eine Bauordnung für die neuen Stadtquartiere. Nach der Cholera-Epidemie führte er 1867-73 eine Abfuhrwesen- und Kloakenreform durch und schuf die städt. Wasserversorgung. 1865 und 1877 erstellte er Studien zu einer Strassenbahn in Zürich. Als Experte für die Trinkwasserversorgung war B. auch in Luzern, Basel, Schaffhausen, Glarus, Neuenburg, Genf sowie in Wien, Bukarest und ital. Städten tätig. Berühmt wurde B. als leitender Ingenieur der "Quaibaukomm." der Gem. Enge, Zürich und Riesbach (1882-87), in der er verantwortlich war für den Bau der Zürcher Quaianlagen mit dem zentralen Bürkli-Platz. Ab 1878 Oberfeuerwehrkommandant. 1869-85 Präs. des kant., 1876-93 des schweiz. Ingenieur- und Architektenvereins. 1883-92 Zürcher Kantonsrat (Kommissionspräs. für ein neues Baugesetz), 1888-92 freisinniger Nationalrat, dabei mehrmals Experte in Fragen des Wasserbaus. 1883 Dr. med. h.c. der Univ. Zürich für seine Verdienste um die Stadtsanierungen. Sales return
In the event of a well-founded claim, the merchandise can be returned upon consultation within 14 days. If the claim turns out to be unsubstantiated, or the damage is the result from improper handling by the customer etc., all the costs are charged to the customer. Returns are only accepted with the invoice enclosed. Damages during shipment have to be notified within 48 hours. Otherwise the refund expires. Return upon dissatisfaction is excluded.
Place of venue
We are subject only to Swiss law. Place of venue is Zurich.
