T.L.S. small 4to.1 page, 15 Broad Street, New York, May 12th 1941, to international law attorney and political power broker Frederick Coudert, in full: "Thank you very much for your gracious note of April 23rd with reference to my becoming a member of the law firm Willkie, Owen, Otis, & Bailly. I hope that the coming days bring as many contacts between us as in the old days." *Frederick R. Coudert and his family represented the interests of Great Britain in the United States for close to one hundred years. Wendell Willkie worked very closely with Coudert to ensure the passage of the Lend-Lease Act, a bill which provided aid to Great Britain and later, our other allies. Fine condition.<br/> <br/> American lawyer and utilities executive who became the Republican Party nominee for President of the United States in 1940.<br/> <br/>
