About This Item

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: The Dropsie College of Hebrew and Cognate Learning, 1958. A typed letter, dated April 24, 1958 on The Dropsie College letterhead, addressed to Abraham Tulin of New York. " Dear Mr. Tulin, In reply to your letter of the 23rd. It is our hope that the papers delivered at the symposium meeting in Temple Emanu-El will be published in book form. Unhappily, the only copy available for distribution now is that of Rabbi Silver. And even of this paper I have only a few copies. Accordingly I am send you only two copies. These are being sent under separate cover. And now a more personal note. I wonder if you recall that many years ago I was one of a group who met two or three times in your office with the ambitious and somewhat quixotic plan of reorganising the Z.O.A. Among those who participated were bob Szold, Aaron Horwitz, Stephen Wise; and from Boston Judge Wyner, Rabbi Shubow and myself. There half a dozen others but I do not recall who they were. With all good wishes and very kind regards, Samuel B. Finkel Executive Vice-President The above with secretarial typing notation. (with) A carbon copy of a letter to Finkel by Abraham Tulin, dated later and remarking on this letter. The carbon paper very darkened and chipped at the fore-edge. Finkel letter approx. 8 1/2" x 11" size; accomplished on good quality paper, Bathgate bond watermark; slight wear, old fold lines; in very good condition. . Manuscript. Not Bound. Very Good.
